About The Position

In the Adult Behavioral Unit at Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality inpatient care to adults experiencing acute and chronic mental health and substance use disorders. The role involves being part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting patient recovery and well-being.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school
• Valid RN license in Connecticut

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• One or more years of Mental Health; Substance use treatment or Behavioral Health acute inpatient setting experience
• BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical and mental health status, including psychiatric stability and withdrawal symptoms
• Administer medications safely, monitor for effectiveness and side effects, and educate patients on treatment plans
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers
• Monitor patient progress and document clinical findings accurately and timely
• Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, and de-escalation when needed
• Participate in treatment team meetings and discharge planning
