Registered Nurse (RN) - Academic Med/Surg
About The Position
Our Academic Med-Surg 6MAIN unit blends high-quality patient care with hands-on clinical education, giving nurses the chance to grow both their skills and their confidence. We care for a wide variety of adult medical and surgical patients, providing a strong foundation in clinical assessment, critical thinking, and teamwork. It's a supportive, fast-paced environment where nurses are encouraged to learn, lead and thrive. The primary patient population (60%) includes general medical patients requiring acute care and adult medical patients with multiple co-morbidities. The secondary patient population (40%) includes post-operative surgical patients.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Utilize evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills.
- Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
