About The Position

This is a 52-week residency program with three 12.5-hour shifts, consisting of classroom didactics, skill labs, simulation labs, a two-week critical care course, and clinical hours with Clinical Nurse Educators and preceptors. After the first 16 weeks, nursing residents transition to a full-time clinical setting with preceptors, including a two-week rotation with the Emergency Department Critical Care nurse.

New Graduate from BSN Program
Overall required GPA 3.3
Nursing GPA 3.5
BLS certification
Application Submission
Interview with ED leadership, ED staff, and Human Resources

Responsibilities

Complete classroom didactics, skill labs, and simulation labs.
Complete a two-week critical care course.
Complete clinical hours with Clinical Nurse Educators and preceptors.
Transition to a full-time clinical setting with preceptors after the first 16 weeks.
Complete a two-week rotation with the Emergency Department Critical Care nurse.
Obtain ACLS and PALS certification during the program.
Obtain 8 CEUs of Stroke and 4 CEUs of Trauma during the program.
Obtain Trauma nursing certification.
Attend Essential Critical Care Orientation Class and Seminars.
