About The Position

The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN) is accountable for promoting high quality care through assessing, planning, implementing, documenting and evaluating the total care needs of our patients/residents/clients (P/R/Cs). The RN/RPN is required to coordinate with all the departments within the facility, families and professionals associated with P/R/Cs care. The RN/RPN must promote effective communication in the facility through care given and reporting mechanisms. The RN/RPN is expected to participate in staff meetings and educational opportunities to maintain their own professional competence.

Requirements

  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of SK - CRPNS.
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS).
  • Basic Interpersonal skills.
  • Basic Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice.
  • Ability to make decisions, which must include coordination of staffing.
  • Ability to competently use computers and software applications.
  • Ability to make decisions on patient care and coordination of equipment.
  • Ability to communicate with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to keep effective work relationships with clients of diverse backgrounds.
  • Must upload all relevant documents (ex: certificates, diplomas, proof of enrollment, licenses and/or memberships) relating to the qualifications of the position.
  • Must bring a valid Criminal Record Check (CRC) to the interview; it must be dated within six (6) months and include a vulnerable sector search.
