Requirements

  • Specialized Diploma in nursing
  • 1 year of clinical experience.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations and events.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skill to provide care appropriate to the ages of patients served.

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
  • RN - Licensed Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Responsibilities

  • Assesses the physical, psycho/social health, and spiritual needs of the patient scheduled for surgery.
  • Documents the patient response to nursing/medical interventions.
  • Documents the initial and ongoing education needs of the patient/family as appropriate.
  • Provides and ensures age-appropriate, direct patient care utilizing skills, knowledge, and established standards of care.
  • Compiles data, tracks outcomes, and makes recommendations for process improvement.
  • Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
  • Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
  • Administers medications to patients and monitors patients for reactions or side effects.
  • Recognizes adverse signs and symptoms and quickly reacts.
  • Identifies and documents educational needs of patients and family; reinforces pre and post procedural teaching.
