About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse – Recovery Room (PACU) for an exciting Travel or Local job in Falmouth, MA. This is a contract position for 13 weeks, requiring 40 hours per week, 5 days a week, with rotating day shifts. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU, collaborating with healthcare teams, and ensuring patient safety and education.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Active Massachusetts RN License.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• Successful completion of a pharmacology exam.
• Basic arrhythmia competency.
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU, ER, CVICU, CVPA, SDC, or PACU experience.
• Strong IV insertion, hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator care skills.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Monitor and care for patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU.
• Administer medications and evaluate patient responses.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Assist with pre-operative and post-operative patient care and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Ensure airway management and patient safety during the recovery phase.
• Serve as a charge nurse or resource nurse when required.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Provide patient and family education regarding post-operative care and recovery.
