The Post-Anesthesia (or Recovery Room) is a perioperative department within Surgical Services. Nurses in this specialty critically evaluate and stabilize patients emerging from anesthesia post-surgery through continuous monitoring. As a Registered Nurse at Henry Ford Health, you will provide leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care. Utilizing the nursing process, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients and their families. Your role is vital in ensuring effective communication within the healthcare team and finding solutions to meet patient goals. Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
  • Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
  • Health care provider certification (BCLS).

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • ICU, ER, Pre Op or PACU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and their families.
  • Communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
  • Participate in finding and implementing solutions for variances from patient goals.
