About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Radiology Department at Texas Health Plano is responsible for assessing, planning, intervening, and evaluating patient care. This role involves incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiating actions to meet patient information needs, and maintaining continuity of care. The department performs a variety of exams and is a fast-paced, high-acuity facility with a collaborative Radiologist Group and strong relationships with the ED and Nursing.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Nursing required or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
  • One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
  • RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days required
  • PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days required
  • Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign exchange equivalency required

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • One year of Radiology experience preferred
  • Experience in ICU or ED with conscious sedation highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assesses the patient

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
