Registered Nurse - Radiation Oncology - Part Time
About The Position
Astera Cancer Care is seeking a Part-Time Clinical Radiation Oncology Nurse for their freestanding clinic in Monroe Twp, NJ. The Princeton Radiation Oncology Center is a state-of-the-art facility that emphasizes a patient-focused, team-oriented approach to care. The Radiation Oncology Nurse will operate within general ONS methods and procedures, exercising independent judgment to apply guidelines to specific situations. This role requires knowledge of nursing policies, procedures, regulations, and scope of practice. The nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, radiation therapists, physics, authorizations, and front desk staff, to ensure comprehensive patient care and physician support. Key responsibilities include clinical nursing activities such as IV insertion, fiducial hydrogel procedures, laryngoscopy, referrals to ancillary services, and maintaining accurate nursing medical records in compliance with regulatory requirements, best practices, and center policies. The nurse will also actively participate in clinical research and serve on committees such as Quality Council, Research, Infection Control, and Pharmacy Program, ensuring safety measures and compliance are maintained.
Requirements
- New Jersey State License as Registered Nurse
- BSN required
- Radiation Oncology Certification required
- BLS certified
Nice To Haves
- OCN Certification preferred
- 3+ years’ experience in Radiation Oncology preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical nurse activities to support physicians and meet radiation oncology patient needs.
- Conduct IV insertion, fiducial hydrogel procedures, and laryngoscopy.
- Manage ancillary services referrals.
- Maintain nursing medical records according to regulatory requirements, best practice, and center policy.
- Actively participate in and assist with clinical research at the center.
- Participate in committees such as Quality Council, Research, Infection Control, and Pharmacy Program.
- Ensure safety measures and compliance are adhered to at all times.
