About The Position

UW Medical Center-Montlake - Radiation Oncology has an outstanding opportunity for a Part Time Registered Nurse. Radiation Oncology provides care to patients of all ages - including pediatric patients - who are undergoing radiation therapy for cancer. Requirements

3 years of recent oncology, medical-surgical, or ambulatory nursing experience
Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
Active BLS (required by start date)
Active PALS (required within first 6 months)
Must be willing to work with pediatric patients

Responsibilities

Collaborates closely with the Nurse Manager to triage and prioritize patient needs
Serves in a roving role, addressing emergent situations as they arise throughout the shift
Supports multiple providers
Educates patients and their families on symptom management
Assists in complex care coordination and continuity of care referrals
Supports patients undergoing TBI prior to transplant
Documents patient care outcomes in our EHR system (Epic)
Performs phone triage
Answers patient calls and eCare messages
Monitors patient flow in the clinic
