About The Position

Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) at Sentara Norfolk General's Radiation Oncology Department, in Norfolk, Virginia. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is offered for qualified candidates. The shift is typically daytime, Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, depending on patient volumes. There is no on-call requirement. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. Professional performance standards encompass ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. All Direct Care RNs are required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.

Requirements

  • RN Degree REQUIRED
  • Virginia RN License REQUIRED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90-days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Radiation Oncology / Rad Onc RN experience STRONGLY PREFERRED
