About The Position

Join Scripps Health as a Registered Nurse in Radiation Oncology at the Prebys Cancer Center, where our Radiation Therapy Centers are accredited by the American Society for Radiation Oncology through APEx-Accreditation Program of Excellence. In this outpatient role, you will provide nursing care to adult patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses receiving radiation therapy. You will assist physicians with procedures including IV placement and brachytherapy treatments, while supporting patients throughout their care journey. Responsibilities include participating in new patient consultations, weekly on-treatment visits, and follow-up appointments; conducting patient assessments; developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized plans of care; and providing patient and family education related to treatment, symptom management, side effects, and ongoing care needs. You will collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to ensure exceptional patient care and support.

Requirements

  • 1 year experience.
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.
  • Current CA RN License
  • Current BLS-C provider from American Heart Association
  • Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
  • Radiation therapy and/or oncology experience preferred.
