This role focuses on providing quality, safety, and service infrastructure support for the Department of Nursing. The nursing quality specialist partners with various leaders and staff to operationalize the departmental plan and initiatives related to quality, safety, and service, and to achieve Magnet Redesignation. The role involves coordinating departmental quality, safety, and service programs, serving as a departmental resource and consultant for practice improvement measurement, and establishing, maintaining, coordinating, and evaluating quality data processes. The individual will develop expertise in quality improvement methodologies and must be able to define, prioritize, and achieve goals with a focus on outcomes. This role is eligible for TN sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing or a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a Master's degree in business or a health-related field.
  • Minimum of two years experience as a RN within the past five years.
  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical nursing processes and quality methodologies.
  • Expertise in evaluation techniques and data analysis.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Current RN license by applicable state requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Bronze and Silver certification with the Mayo Quality Fellows certification preferred.
  • Certification as Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.
  • ED experience preferred.
  • Quality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality, safety and service infrastructure support for the Department of Nursing.
  • Partner with clinical nurse specialists, nurse managers, nurse supervisors, nurse administrators, and other departmental leaders and staff in operationalizing the departmental operational plan and initiatives that relate to quality, safety and service.
  • Achieve Magnet Redesignation.
  • Coordinate departmental quality, safety, and service programs and activities.
  • Serve as a departmental resource and consultant related to practice improvement measurement.
  • Establish, maintain, coordinate and evaluate quality data processes so that meaningful information is available for departmental quality activities.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in quality improvement methodologies.
  • Define, prioritize and achieve goals and objectives with a focus on outcomes.
