About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time position on a 20-bed inpatient unit serving adult patients with psychiatric illness. Patients are cared for by an interdisciplinary team including psychiatrists, nursing, social work, psychology, occupational therapy, therapeutic recreation, and behavioral health technicians and aides. The unit provides acute care and facilitates ongoing community treatment, and also includes a partial hospitalization program. The unit is recognized for its high employee satisfaction, performance improvement projects, and positive workplace environment, fostering teamwork and professional growth. The RN will utilize the nursing process to provide individualized care and will work both independently and collaboratively with motivated professionals. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program (e.g., AACN, ACEN, NLN CNEA).
  • Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
  • Psych or related clinical experience required.
  • North Dakota RN License required at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients.
  • Providing high-quality care to patients and families.
  • Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team including psychiatrist, nursing, social work, psychology, occupational therapy, therapeutic recreation, and behavioral health technicians and aides.
  • Administering group therapy as well as individual therapy and assessments.
  • Providing acute care for patients and facilitating ongoing treatment in the community.
