About The Position

Devereux Arizona’s Residential Treatment Center (RTC) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct daily medical management for their adolescent population (ages 7-17). The RTC is a 24-hour, 10-acre campus in Scottsdale, offering a safe and supportive environment for youth facing emotional, behavioral, or substance abuse challenges. The campus includes dormitories, a therapeutic K-12 day school, food services, medical/nursing, and therapy services. The RN will be responsible for administering medications, reviewing their effectiveness and potential side effects with medical providers, supervising safety and crisis intervention, implementing infection control protocols, and managing general medical care. This role also involves maintaining communication with all departments involved in client care and providing education/training to direct care personnel for the Medication Technician Certification Program at the Group Home Level.

Requirements

  • Current valid RN license to practice in Arizona with no restrictions.
  • Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Six (6) months nursing experience.
  • Must attend mandatory two (2) weeks of paid New Hire Orientation: Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm, followed by on the job training.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards).
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 36-month history check.
  • Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable).
  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results.
  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (OR eligibility to obtain with no restrictions).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous behavioral health experience with children/adolescents or pediatric nursing preferred.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct daily medical management for the adolescent population.
  • Administer medications and provide, review, and follow-up with medical providers regarding effectiveness and possible side effects.
  • Provide supervision regarding safety issues/crisis intervention for the campus population.
  • Oversee infection control protocols.
  • Manage general medical care.
  • Maintain effective communication with all departments involved with direct client care.
  • Provide education/training of direct care personnel involved with the Medication Technician Certification Program at the Group Home Level.
