About The Position

Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Psych Acute Adult department in Aurora, IL. This is a Full-Time position with day shifts, working from 7a-7:30pm, including rotating weekends and holidays. The role involves treating patients, educating them on mental and medical conditions, providing emotional support, running therapeutic groups, psychiatric crisis intervention, and managing seclusion and restraint. Responsibilities also include recording patient histories, administering diagnostic tests, operating medical machinery, administering treatments and medications, and assisting with patient follow-up and rehabilitation. RNs will also teach patients and their families about illness management, diet, exercise, and medication self-administration.

Requirements

Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards
Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units
Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care
