This specific role is on an 18-bed unit committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to multi-specialty med-surg patients, with a specialization in heart failure patients and cardiac diagnoses. The unit focuses on a partnership approach to deliver excellent care, and nurses on this unit possess attributes of clinical expertise, a willingness to learn, a spirit of inquiry, professional engagement, and the ability to cultivate new relationships. The variety of patients includes those with Cardiac diagnoses, step-down patients, Respiratory Failure, Sepsis, DKA, and a variety of other diagnoses. The unit is described as a great place to build a strong nursing foundation and critical thinking skills while collaborating with an excellent team of nursing staff.

Requirements

Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).

Responsibilities

Deliver the best, high quality, compassionate care to multi-specialty med-surg patients.
Specialize in caring for heart failure patients and cardiac diagnoses.
Focus on a partnership approach to deliver excellent care to every patient.
Care for Progressive level of care patients (stepdown from critical care).
Care for patients going to cardiac procedures.
Collaborate with an excellent team of nursing staff.
Maintain ACLS certification.
Maintain Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
Obtain other Advanced Life Support certifications as may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
