About The Position

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse will be part of a float pool, providing care across all PCU and Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) floors. This role primarily focuses on managing a cardiac patient population. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3-4, and the nurse will care for patients with conditions such as STEMI, NSTEMI, chest pain, and those requiring cardiac drips, including Milrinone, Dobutamine, and Pressors. There may also be assignments to telemetry beds within the same unit where patient acuity is lower.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a facility of comparable size.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with EPIC EMR system is preferred.
• Ability to accommodate minimal requests for time off (RTO).

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for patients in the Progressive Care Unit.
• Float as needed to various floors within the PCU/IMCU with a focus on cardiac patients.
• Administer and monitor cardiac drips and other medications per patient protocols.
• Document patient care accurately in the EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
