About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse working night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with a guaranteed 36 hours per week. The RN will provide specialized cardiac and post-operative care for patients recovering from open-heart procedures and other complex cardiovascular conditions. Working within a hospital’s cardiac care environment, the nurse is responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. The RN will assess patient conditions, implement individualized care plans, and monitor recovery following cardiac procedures. The role requires strong clinical judgment, advanced cardiac knowledge, and the ability to respond quickly to changes in patient condition. The nurse will also assist with coordinating care and supporting non-RN staff to ensure effective and safe patient care throughout each shift.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or a Compact license.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience.
  • Experience providing post-operative care for open-heart surgery patients.
  • Experience managing chest tubes and other surgical drains.
  • Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, including interpreting rhythm strips and responding appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes.
  • Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary conditions.
  • Experience assisting with procedures such as chest tube removal, removal of pericardial pacing wires, and management of temporary pacing devices.
  • Experience supporting oxygen therapy and non-invasive ventilation systems.
