Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care (PCU)
About The Position
Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Progressive Care (PCU)-Intermediate Medical Care (IMC) Unit. This 42-bed department provides comprehensive, direct care to patients and their families. RNs practice to the full scope of their license, working under the direction of the Nurse Manager as key members of a patient-focused care team. The unit specializes in the management of acute cardiac patients, including those requiring invasive line management and care following carotid and femoral procedures. Nurses are skilled in delivering appropriate interventions, therapies, and monitoring expected outcomes, with a focus on adult and geriatric populations. Shifts are 12 hours, with both day (7A) and night (7P) opportunities available.
Requirements
- Current state RN license
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
- Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire
- ACLS Certification
- One-year acute cardiovascular care experience or other comparable nursing experience
Nice To Haves
- ASLS certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
- Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
- Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
- Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
- Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
- Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
