About The Position

The Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, acting as the service line between Med-Surg and ICU units, determining the priority of the patient’s problems and needs, developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes, and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. RNs in the Weekend Only program work between Friday at 3 p.m. to Monday 7 a.m. and will receive a Weekend Program differential for each eligible hour worked. The RN is paid at a percentage above his/her base pay to equal an additional 4 hours for each 12-hour shift they work. The RN can pick up additional shifts Monday to Thursday paid at their base pay rate in addition to any shift differential or incentive pay if that is applicable. This is a part-time position with 12-hour shifts, Days 7a - 7:30p.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care, ACLS required within 6 months of hire)
• 1 year of RN experience (required) and will accept new grads.
• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness
• Serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments
• Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department
• Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization’s policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned
