About The Position

Baptist Health Walker Hospital is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse for their Progressive Care Unit. This position involves providing advanced nursing care for patients requiring complex assessments, therapies, and high-intensity interventions. The nurse will analyze assessment data to anticipate changes and respond quickly to evolving patient conditions, prioritizing critical information for immediate, evidence-based, patient-focused action. Responsibilities include monitoring and managing specialized equipment, interpreting data such as cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic pressures, and responding to emergencies. The role also involves assessing patient needs, developing and evaluating individualized care plans, advocating for patients and families, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and coordinating/delegating patient care activities. Accurate documentation, maintaining clinical competency, modeling professionalism, and supporting departmental goals are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health unit/department.
• Maintains current State of Alabama RN license.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• 1 year experience required unless approved by AVP level or above.
