About The Position

ChristianaCare, a healthcare organization with 1100 beds between two Magnet® recognized hospitals (Christiana and Wilmington) and the only Level 1 Trauma service on the East Coast corridor between Philadelphia and Baltimore, is seeking a highly motivated, energetic RN for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This role offers an opportunity to advance critical care knowledge and skills by working in an interdisciplinary team approach with pharmacy, respiratory, intensivist, PAs, and other consultants to provide patient-centered care. The intensivist is housed directly on the ICU unit, facilitating communication and enabling nursing to provide quality patient care. This is a great place to start or grow critical care knowledge, especially for those looking to care for more acutely ill patients. The position is for 24 hours per week.

Requirements

  • BSN required. ADNs candidates are required to commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of date of hire can be considered with relevant experience.
  • At least one year of experience.
  • Acute care experience required.
  • BLS required.
  • ACLS preferred. Must get within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient-centered care in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team approach.
  • Work closely with pharmacy, respiratory, intensivist, PAs, and other consultants.
  • Care for acutely ill patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
  • Adhere to department guidelines for holidays and weekends.
