About The Position

This role is responsible for analyzing and synthesizing data to maximize its utilization in clinical decision-making, business, and strategic initiatives. The position also coordinates educational activities associated with orientation and ongoing training. The Registered Nurse - Program Specialist will establish close working relationships with clinical and non-clinical partners, promote optimal patient care through clinical activities and data analysis, and possess a working knowledge of regulations regarding data collection, submission, and documentation. The role involves gathering and analyzing feedback from various stakeholders, disseminating results, and helping to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches to obtain decisions on resolution. The individual will plan and schedule their daily workload independently, adapt in a changing environment, and possess strong public relations, time management, and positive personal relations skills. Effective communication across all levels and functions of the organization is essential, as is the ability to build, manage, and maintain working relationships internally and externally. Conflict resolution and effective problem-solving are key. The role is expected to be performed independently while recognizing accountability to the department and organization. Proficiency in computer software and high personal and professional commitments are required. Other related duties as assigned for the needs of the program may include grant administration responsibilities such as assisting project teams with post-award activities, maintaining grant and contract files, reviewing contracts, developing progress reports, and reviewing closed grants for completeness. Effective grant management with project management, prioritization, planning, organization, and presentation skills are expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
  • Minimum of three years’ clinical experience related to specialty, e.g. trauma, oncology, research, critical care.
  • Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications related to specialty.
  • Possesses a strong clinical background.
  • Able to effectively educate others.
  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
  • Able to adapt in a changing environment.
  • Possesses strong public relations skills, time management skills, and positive personal relations.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
