About The Position

This is a PRN position for a Registered Nurse. The role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans, monitoring patient conditions, and collaborating with healthcare teams to coordinate care. The nurse will also be responsible for patient and family education, delegating tasks, and utilizing critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment. A key aspect of the role is partnering with patients to implement a patient-centered plan of care, demonstrating caring attitudes, and using evidence-based interventions. The position also requires integrating critical thinking with technology, delegating according to patient safety, and demonstrating respect and empathy towards diverse patient populations. Additionally, the role requires commitment to organizational values, effective communication, adherence to policies, initiative, timely completion of duties, participation in performance improvement initiatives, and compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
  • Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.
  • Current and active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire).
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (be obtained within six (6) months of hire).
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENCP) certification (or be obtained within one (1) year of hire.)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Two (2) years of hospital nursing experience.
  • Previous Med/Surg experience

Responsibilities

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Identifies barriers to effective communication based on psychosocial, literacy, financial, and cultural considerations.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
  • May precept student nurses and new hires.
  • Employs critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
  • Partners with the healthcare consumer to implement a patient-centered plan of care.
  • Demonstrates caring attitudes and behaviors to develop therapeutic relationships.
  • Uses evidence-based interventions and strategies to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Integrates critical thinking and technology solutions.
  • Delegates according to the health, safety, and welfare of the patients we serve.

  • Actively contributes to departmental and organization-wide performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, maintaining adherence to departmental, hospital, state, and federal standards and policies.
  • Follows all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff.
