This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care within a healthcare unit, potentially extending to housing units. The Registered Nurse PRN will assess patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions, apply knowledge of available resources for health histories and assessments, and provide written assessments upon admission, during confinement, and upon discharge. Key responsibilities include summarizing assessment data, making triage decisions, planning individual treatment programs utilizing available protocols, and referring patients to appropriate providers as needed. The nurse will implement treatment plans, administer medications (including IV therapy), obtain diagnostic tests, and manage nutrition and therapeutic diets. Documentation will be in SOAP format, and communication with other healthcare professionals, correctional officers, and department heads is essential.
