Requirements

Active Registered Nurse License in state position is held
Basic Life Support certification
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality

Responsibilities

Provides coordinated medical and clinical nursing care to meet the needs of each assigned patient.
Partners with an interdisciplinary team to provide quality care and a therapeutic milieu.
Provides professional nursing care, utilizing sound clinical judgment, in alignment with established standards of care, policies, and procedures.
Remains flexible, demonstrates effective, efficient care while maintaining quality.
Performs a full range of nursing services including assessment, care planning, administering treatment, and evaluating patient response to care.
Performs initial intake assessment of new patients and discharge reconciliation and education.
Places, receives, and completes provider orders.
Administers medications via multiple routes.
Performs phlebotomy, specimen processing, and point of care testing.
Places/maintains nasogastric tubes and administers enteral feeding.
Places/maintains intravenous access and administers intravenous fluids.
Performs wound care.
Documents all direct patient care, monitoring, and observation in the electronic medical record.
Supervises and delegates care to Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses and Behavioral Health Technicians.
Communicates and coordinates care with the interdisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement an individualized treatment plan.
Ensures care provided aligns with the individualized treatment plan and patient outcome goals.
Participates in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings regarding patient progress and planning for interventions.
Documents and reports to the treatment team regarding patient status and progress.
Participates in training, teaching, and mentoring new nursing department teammates.
Responds to emergency situations until emergency medical services arrive.
