About The Position
Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse PRN for the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center at Pleasant View. This role involves applying the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. The nurse will communicate patient information to the healthcare team, collaborate on patient goals, and evaluate progress. Professional growth is encouraged through continuous learning activities in accordance with Board of Nursing standards. The position requires a minimum of 2 shifts per month, with hours typically Monday-Friday, 8 am-4:30 pm.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved discipline specific program: Nursing (Required)
- Relevant Work Experience
- LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure-Others
- Minimum Requirement - 2 shifts per month
- Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation (Novice)
- Nursing Patient Education (Novice)
- Care Planning (Novice)
- Evidence-Based Practice (Novice)
Responsibilities
- Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
- Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
- Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
- Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
