Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse License in state position is held (Required)
  • Basic Life Support certification (Required)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing (Required)
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations (Required)
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality (Required)
  • Teammates working in a Colorado Residential Child Care facility (RCCF) must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age or at least eighteen (18) years of age and work directly under the supervision of a teammate over twenty-one (21) years of age (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year+ working with patients in the mental health field (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provides coordinated medical and clinical nursing care to meet the needs of each assigned patient within the ERC Pathlight system.
  • Partners with an interdisciplinary team to provide quality care and a consistently therapeutic milieu for all patients.
  • Provides professional nursing care, utilizing sound clinical judgment, in alignment with ERC Pathlight’s established standards of care, policies, and procedures.
  • Remains flexible, demonstrates effective, efficient care while maintaining quality, in alignment with ERC Pathlight’s vision, mission, and strategic plan.
  • Treats patients, families, and co-workers with dignity and respect.
  • May be required to work on-call shifts based on business needs, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • Performs a full range of nursing services including assessment, care planning, administering treatment, and evaluating patient response to care in accordance with the patient’s treatment plan.
  • Performs initial intake assessment of new patients and discharge reconciliation and education.
  • Places, receives, and completes provider orders per ERCP policy.
  • Administers medications via multiple routes in accordance with ERCP policy and provider orders.
  • Performs phlebotomy, specimen processing, and point of care testing in accordance with ERCP policy and laboratory vendor protocols.
  • Places/maintains nasogastric tubes and administers enteral feeding.
  • Places/maintains intravenous access and administers intravenous fluids.
  • Performs wound care.
  • Documents all direct patient care, monitoring, and observation in the electronic medical record.
  • Supervises and delegates care to Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses and Behavioral Health Technicians.
  • Communicates and coordinates care with the interdisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement an individualized treatment plan for each assigned patient.
  • Ensures care provided aligns with the individualized treatment plan and patient outcome goals.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings regarding patient progress toward treatment goals and planning for continued or changing clinical interventions.
  • Documents and reports to treatment team regarding patient status and progress.
  • Participates in training, teaching, and mentoring new nursing department teammates.
  • Responds to emergency situations until emergency medical services (EMS/911) arrive on scene.
