About The Position

This is a PRN Position. The Registered Nurse plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. They monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate, and collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care. The role involves identifying barriers to effective communication, evaluating learning needs of patients and/or families, and providing education. The nurse effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel and may precept student nurses and new hires. This position requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. The nurse partners with the healthcare consumer to implement a patient-centered plan of care, demonstrates caring attitudes and behaviors, uses evidence-based interventions, integrates critical thinking and technology, and delegates according to patient safety. They demonstrate respect, equity, and empathy in interactions with diverse and vulnerable patients. The role also involves demonstrating commitment to organizational values, maintaining effective communication, adhering to dress code, exhibiting initiative, completing required education, maintaining patient confidentiality, reporting to work punctually, contributing to performance improvement, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
  • Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.
  • Current and active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire).
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (be obtained within six (6) months of hire).
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENCP) certification (or be obtained within one (1) year of hire.)
  • Two (2) years of hospital nursing experience.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
