Sheridan Community Hospital is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team. This PRN role requires flexibility to support patient volumes, including weekend and occasional holiday coverage. RNs must be adaptable and comfortable managing a wide range of emergency conditions.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience in an Emergency Department setting
- Ability to work PRN shifts, including every 3rd weekend and occasional holidays
- Flexibility and adaptability to manage a wide range of emergency conditions
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong critical thinking and sound judgment skills
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, triage, and treatment
- Deliver safe, evidence-based care in a fast-paced emergency environment
- Monitor patient conditions and respond rapidly to changes
- Administer medications and treatments per provider orders
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
- Document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Support efficient patient flow and department operations
- Maintain high standards of patient experience and communication
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and infection control standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team training
- Support and guide CNAs and team members as needed
- Respond to emergency situations with critical thinking and sound judgment
