Under the direction of the Director, Department Manager, and supervisor, the RN will assess, perform, document, and evaluate professional independent nursing practice and perform related duties. This role involves confirming surgery dates and times with patients, admitting patients to the perioperative area, assessing and preparing them for surgery, and monitoring their condition post-procedure according to PACU, SDS, and SDEX orders. The RN will collaborate with surgeons and the anesthesia team to ensure safe and timely emergence from anesthesia and effectively communicate discharge instructions for post-operative care. The work schedule is 0.5 FTE (40 hours per pay period) with 10-hour shifts, start times between 0530-0930, on-call every 4th weekend, and one holiday per year.
