Requirements

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.

Nice To Haves

• 2 + years of Preadmission Testing RN experience.
• Experience in conducting endoscopy pre procedure phone calls and post-op calls.
• Experience in quality chart checking, chart building, updating surgeon orders, and superb organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive medical history reviews and in-depth health assessments to identify clinical anomalies, ensuring every patient is medically optimized for a safe surgical outcome.
• Empower patients and families through specialized pre-operative counseling, ensuring a thorough understanding of surgical procedures, preparation protocols, and post-operative recovery plans.
• Act as a critical liaison between multidisciplinary teams by initiating physician consultations and ordering essential diagnostic testing to streamline the surgical pipeline.
• Facilitate seamless transitions by managing surgical timing, discharge logistics, and inpatient planning to maximize unit efficiency and patient satisfaction.
