About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse, Pre-op/PACU whose responsibility is to schedule surgical procedures and pre-operative visits, conduct pre-operative interviews, assess the outpatient surgical patient and develop a plan of care as well as performing outpatient care procedures to facilitate ordered interventions from credentialed physicians. This position is also responsible for fulfilling the duties of PACU and all aspects of Phase I and Phase II recovery of the surgical patient. This position utilizes the nursing process to assess, prioritize, plan, deliver and evaluate care provided to the neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric surgical population. This position assists with activities to promote optimal patient care and efficient resource utilization.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required with successful passing of the national NCLEX exam for professional nursing.
  • 2 years nursing experience required.
  • Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Georgia.
  • BLS provider required.
  • ACLS provider required.
  • Advanced technical nursing skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of the nursing process.
  • Basic word processing computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in perioperative Nursing preferred.
  • Experience in PACU / Pre-operative nursing preferred.
  • PALS provider certification required within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule surgical procedures and pre-operative visits
