About The Position

Regions Hospital is seeking a dynamic RN for its busy Postpartum Unit. The role involves working as an interdisciplinary team member with physicians, midwives, residents, and students. The Professional Nursing Practice Model emphasizes patient and family-centered care, with nurses empowered to manage their clinical practice and working environment through a Shared Governance Model focused on evidence-based practice. Regions Hospital provides individualized orientation, including a nurse residency program structured to support learning, role transition, and retention. The state-of-the-art Birth Center, built in 2020, features 160,000 square feet with 13 Labor and Delivery rooms, 2 operating rooms, 24 Postpartum rooms, and 7 NICU rooms. The Level 2 NICU has 7 private rooms (totaling 8 beds) with adjoining family spaces and bathrooms. Regions Hospital utilizes the Enhanced Couplet Care model, where some NICU babies can stay in Postpartum rooms with their families to avoid separation, which has shown benefits like improved weight gain and fewer hospital readmissions.
