Registered Nurse- Post Partum
About The Position
We are seeking a n Obstetric Registered Nurse (OB RN) , sometimes referred to as our Obstetric Registered Nurse , Obstetrics and Gynecology Nurse or Labor and Delivery RN . Our Obstetric RN will be in obstetrics acute unit and provide specialized care to pregnant patients before, during, and after labor and delivery. The Obstetric Registered Nurse monitor s maternal and fetal health, assist with labor management, administer medications, and support patients through childbirth. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed . Additionally, the OB RN will educate and counsel patients and families on pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care, while collaborating closely with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare team members to ensure safe and effective care throughout the perinatal period.
Requirements
- Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State.
- BLS upon hire and maintain current.
- ACLS upon hire and maintain current.
- NRP within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs and assess labor progression to ensure the well-being of both mother and baby
- Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and pain management therapies as prescribed during labor and postpartum
- Assist healthcare providers with labor and delivery procedures, including vaginal births and cesarean sections
- Provide emotional support and education to expectant mothers and their families regarding labor, delivery, and postpartum care
- Document patient care activities, observations, and responses accurately in medical records to ensure continuity of care
