The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating as per the nursing process. The Registered Nurse is expected to direct, delegate, and coordinate all nursing care provided by the LPN, CNA, Patient Care Companion, and Unit Clerk consistent with their roles, responsibilities, and skill level. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and development level of the patient population being served. The role also involves demonstrating professional development, accountability, and leadership in professional nursing practice, adhering to Cornerstone standards, hospital mission and values, maintaining professionalism, patient confidentiality, and ethical conduct. The nurse is expected to maintain competencies, assist with staff orientation, contribute to a safe environment, support research, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
