About The Position

Responsible for the planning, executing, directing and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care given to the surgical patient, the successful candidate will function within the multidisciplinary team and rotate through all surgical specialties (orthopedics including total joints, general, gynecology, vascular, urology, otolaryngology, cysto and ophthalmology) working a variety of shifts including on call.

Requirements

Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
Perioperative Certification required
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Team player, ability to utilize critical thinking skills, positive caring attitude, flexible and willingness to learn.
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.
Strong attention to detail in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
Ability to foster a work environment that focuses on teamwork.
Must provide availability of a 0.50 FTE
Proof of vaccination or proof of a documented medical exemption as part of the hiring process.
