About The Position

Over the past fifty years, Montefiore's Division of Services for Addiction has helped thousands of people enter recovery and re-join their families and communities. Through recovery, individuals are empowered to help find meaning in their lives and integrate back into their communities. The Per Diem Registered Nurse functions as part of the clinic leadership team, performs task and carries out responsibilities within the frame work of health teaching, health counseling and supportive / restorative care. These duties are performed under the supervision of the Head Nurse / staff. The Per Diem Registered Nurse will be required to perform the duties listed below and other duties involving the same type, area, and degree of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Current license and registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required.
  • Associate’s degree in nursing required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification/training required.
  • NYS Mandated Infection Control training required.
  • NYS Mandated Reporter Training in Child Abuse and Neglect/Maltreatment
  • Justice Center Clearance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care and related clinical activities in accordance with program objectives and policies, as assigned by the PCC/designee and in support of medical care directed by the physician.
  • Perform Registered Nurse responsibilities within the RN scope of practice and in accordance with program policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate accountability for planning, coordinating, and providing nursing care to promote continuity of care.
  • Dispense and administer prescribed medications and treatments and monitor patients for reactions or changes in condition.
  • Must be able to work at all Wellness Center locations based on operational and staffing needs, as scheduled.
  • Perform additional clinical responsibilities as assigned based on clinic needs
  • Per Diem Scheduling and availability.
  • Candidates must be available to work a minimum of four (4) days per month and must include at least one to two (1–2) Saturdays per month inclusive of occasional holiday weekends. This position will cover all Wellness Center Locations
  • Saturday assignments are 6:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m. : Monday through Friday assignments are 7.5-hour shifts, with start and end times varying depending on the clinic and operational needs, hours of operation
  • Candidates schedule must be flexible to work various shifts and locations depending on operational needs.
