As part of an interdisciplinary team, the nurse collaborates with providers to implement comprehensive, patient-centered care plans and utilizes principles of assignment and delegation according to the NY State Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

• Current Registered Professional Nurse in New York.
• BLS and PALS Certified through the American Heart Association.
• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required.
• Minimum of one year Pediatric nursing experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English language skills.
• Physical stamina, manual dexterity and visual acuity to perform responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Collects patient healthcare data systematically and on an ongoing basis using appropriate assessment techniques and instruments.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the NYU Langone Health Core Values and incorporates these into the performance of responsibilities.
• Collaborates with the members of the interdisciplinary team and promotes collegial relationships.
• Participates in coordination of unit activities to provide patient care in a healing, humane and caring environment.

• Demonstrates ability to differentiate those activities which are professional nursing practice, and those that may be delegated to ancillary staff.

• Develops a plan of care that prescribes intervention to attain expected outcomes.
• Identifies expected outcomes and anticipates unexpected or adverse outcomes as individualized to the patient.
• Analyzes assessment and reassessment data to determine nursing diagnoses.
