About The Position

Inova Schar Cancer Institute’s Pediatric Infusion Clinic is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the team. This role will be full-time day shift from Monday – Friday. Our nurses work 10-hour shifts and our clinic is open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. This nurse will work 3x10 hour shifts per week. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible. Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
• Education: BSN or ADN - If ADN then complete BSN within 5 years of start date
• BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association required
• APHON Chemotherapy Card required within 3 months
• RN licensed, and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others.
• Proficient computer skills required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Pediatric oncology experience strongly preferred
• Previous Pediatric critical care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with others while having respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines.
• Use an integrated approach toward achieving desired patient outcomes while ensuring improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in lifelong learning.
• Provide direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor.
• Provide comprehensive patient and family education including information about treatments, medications, chemotherapy and other appropriate items, while keeping patients and families informed about all aspects of the plan of care.
• Work with members of the healthcare team to provide patients and families with appropriate resources and support.
