About The Position

As a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, the RN will apply their clinical expertise of pediatric disease processes and related complex medical conditions to provide comprehensive nursing care and follow-up to children ages 0-18. The RN is also responsible for facilitating clinic flow and assisting with the coordination of community services and supports.

Requirements

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum of five (5) years recent nursing experience in a tertiary pediatric centre
• Sound knowledge of pediatric illnesses, symptoms and related interventions
• Demonstration of clinical expertise in pediatric psychosocial assessments, pediatric growth and development, critical thinking and problem solving
• Demonstration and knowledge in the role of community liaison and access to supports for the children and families
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and also collaborative with a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care and follow-up to children ages 0-18.

• Provide health teaching for pediatric patients and their families, specific to the needs of the clinic population.
