About The Position
The position involves providing care in a mixed acuity unit, which includes Intermediate Care, Telemetry, and MedSurg patients. The unit admits patients directly, from the emergency department, and post-procedures such as cath lab. The nurse will also care for patients with a variety of cardiac conditions and act as a backup for the stroke unit and medical overflow.
Requirements
- 1.5 years general nursing experience with at least 1 year in a PCU setting
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Experience with cardiac procedural recovery and titratable cardiac/vasoactive drips
- Registered Nurse licensed by the South Dakota Board of Nursing
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care in a Progressive Care Unit setting
- Manage care for post-cardiac and vascular procedure patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage related pharmacology therapies
