About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is responsible for managing patient care, providing high-quality nursing services, and collaborating with the healthcare team. The role requires a PCU nurse with experience managing a mixed unit environment, including Med/Surg and Intermediate Care patients.

Requirements

• 1 year of nursing experience in a PCU setting.
• EPIC experience required for first-time travelers.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; active Registered Nurse license in South Dakota.
• Comfortable with MedSurg assignments and reading/interpreting cardiac strips.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, including oral, IV, IM, and SQ medications, vasoactive drips, TPN, and blood products.
• Manage IV access, PICC lines, central lines, chest tubes, and other medical devices.
• Provide comprehensive wound care and manage telemetry monitoring.
• Float between Med Surg, Ortho/Neuro/Surgical, Heart and Vascular, Oncology, and Observation units as required.
