About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a progressive care unit (PCU). This position demands excellence in patient care and a willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic healthcare environment. The unit has 40 beds with an average daily census of 24, and nurse to patient ratios of 1:4-5. Patients commonly include adults with cardiac, med/surg, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory issues, strokes, post-stent, post-pacer placements, and renal failure.

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Competency in arterial line management

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assessments, focusing on both physical and emotional well-being
• Titrate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin as necessary
• Utilize and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Engage in effective communication with patients and families regarding care plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
