About The Position
Perform duties as a Registered Nurse in the PCU, providing direct and indirect patient care in a hospital setting. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of PCU experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to float to ICU
- Familiarity with Epic charting system
- Experience with continuous bladder irrigation, chest tube maintenance, and drip titrations with medications like Heparin and Insulin
- Completion of an approved nursing education program
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensed by the South Dakota Board of Nursing
Responsibilities
- Cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV starts, and blood product administration
- Maintain drain/tube management, indwelling and straight catheter insertion/management, and insulin drips (both DKA and non-DKA)
- Conduct thorough physical assessments and maintain high-level clinical judgment
- Participate effectively in a team setting, showing adaptability and maintaining a professional bedside manner
