About The Position

Abbott’s Diagnostics family brings together expert teams and industry-leading technologies. In this per-diem, state- and city-specific role with Acelis Connected Health, the Registered Nurse provides personalized face-to-face training to home-testing customers. Training covers obtaining a finger-stick blood sample, operating PT/INR products, and fulfilling test-reporting responsibilities. The trainer arranges appointments remotely and travels to customers’ homes within the general geographic area of the trainer’s home. The role is listed as remote and requires travel 100% of the time, including a minimum of 100 miles roundtrip. Trainers use a cell phone, email, internet access, and secure encrypted email to communicate, and electronically document and submit patient training records. The work involves human blood or other potentially infectious materials.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse.
• Clinical experience.
• Reliable transportation.
• Computer and smart-device proficiency.
• Own a personal laptop or desktop computer to complete company requirements if needed.
• Access to a printer.
• Proficiency in basic website and application troubleshooting using a smart device.
• Complete assigned educational prerequisites.
• Provide proof of health-screening documentation.
• Successfully complete a consumer report (background check) and pre-employment drug screening.
• Travel a minimum of 100 miles roundtrip.
• No lifting over 15 pounds is required without assistance.

Nice To Haves

• Direct experience or exposure to anticoagulation management or home care is preferred.
• Health education training experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Arrange training appointments remotely with customers or caregivers.
• Travel to customers’ homes within the general geographic area of the trainer’s home.
• Demonstrate and instruct customers or caregivers in the proper use and care of PT/INR equipment.
• Explain test-reporting options.
• Communicate and present oneself professionally.
• Accurately document and electronically submit patient training records.
• Maintain communications with Acelis Connected Health by cell phone, email, and internet access.
• Use secure encrypted email when communicating information that includes customers’ protected health information (PHI).
