About The Position

This is a floating AM position between AMOREM's patient care units in Valdese and Hudson. Through a holistic approach, high quality comprehensive care is provided timely and efficiently to promote a positive end of life experience in the PCU.

Requirements

Current NC license as a registered nurse
Active patient contact or completion of a nursing refresher course within the past three years
CPR certification
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Willingness to work with patients/families regardless of race, color, creed, age or sexual orientation. Must respect their beliefs and philosophy with an attitude of openness.
Ability to work effectively with others in a supervisory role
Strong communication skills
Must have an automobile with required insurance coverage and state driver’s license
PRN employees must complete one 12-hour shift in 90 days

Responsibilities

Establish a plan of care for new patients in coordination with IDG
Make assignments and supervise patient care
Notify staff of patient death in accordance with policy
Assure medications are administered accurately and on a timely basis and in accordance with MD orders
Respond promptly to all emergency situations
Maintain constant vigilance over patients, ensuring necessary safety precautions are taken
Follow all infection control procedures
Supervise nursing assistants, LPNs and volunteers on duty
Assure the facility is secured by safety policies and procedures after hours and on weekends
Assure that patients and families have solace and privacy
Assure patient/facility supplies, laundry and equipment are appropriately cleaned and stocked
