About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Inpatient Palliative Care Unit provides compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals with serious or life-limiting illnesses. This role is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care focused on symptom management, comfort, quality of life, and support for patients and families. The RN collaborates with an interdisciplinary team and utilizes evidence-based practice, technology, and therapeutic interventions to deliver holistic care that honors each patient's goals and values. Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Nurses working under a compact license must transfer their license to the state of practice within 60 days of employment.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of hire.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Compassionate communication and relationship-building abilities
- Experience collaborating within interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Commitment to high-quality, patient- and family-centered care
- Excellent care coordination and documentation skills
- Ability to support patients and families through complex healthcare journeys
- Professional accountability and sound clinical judgment
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution. Education will be verified.
- Previous acute care, palliative care, hospice, oncology, critical care, or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Experience caring for patients with complex symptom management needs and serious illnesses.
- Hospice, palliative care, advance care planning or ICU experience.

- Expanding expertise in symptom management, communication, end-of-life care, and interdisciplinary practice.
- Delivering compassionate, patient-centered care and helping patients live as comfortably and meaningfully as possible.
