Registered Nurse - PACU
About The Position
The Virginia Eye Institute is hiring a Full Time Pre-Op / PACU Registered Nurse for their busy adult and pediatric ophthalmic multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center in the Richmond, VA area. The practice consists of ophthalmologists and optometrists across eight locations and an ambulatory surgery center. The ideal candidate will be reliable, possess outstanding attention to detail and excellent customer service skills, be a team-player, self-starter, friendly, motivated, organized, and able to work independently while sustaining a team environment. A caring demeanor and the ability to build and maintain patient rapport is critical. The candidate must be highly productive, eager to learn, and motivated to succeed.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school or nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia, required.
- BLS certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous PACU or critical care experience preferred.
- ACLS and PALS preferred (or obtain within eight weeks of start date).
Responsibilities
- Provide pre-operative and/or post-operative care for patients undergoing local, regional, or general anesthesia.
- Provide excellent, individualized perioperative care with a focus on compassion and providing an excellent patient experience.
